Big Ditch Wildlife Management Area
At a Glance
Cowen’s 388-acre Big Ditch Wildlife Management Area protects forested ridges, open fields, and a quiet 55-acre fishing lake just outside the Monongahela National Forest’s boundary. In addition to hunting and fishing opportunities, Big Ditch also serves as a local escape for hiking, birding, and nature walks. Its compact size makes it easy to explore in an afternoon, with plenty of chances to spot deer, turkey, and songbirds.
