Falls of Hills Creek National Scenic Area
At a Glance
Falls of Hills Creek features a 1.4-mile trail showcasing three of West Virginia’s tallest waterfalls, set against lush Monongahela National Forest scenery along the Highland Scenic Highway. The trail quickly descends 220 feet via boardwalks and staircases to reach the lower falls, while a paved accessible viewing platform provides barrier-free access to the 25-foot Upper Falls. Spring runoff creates the most dramatic displays, though the steep descent and potentially slippery conditions require careful footing when exploring this popular waterfall destination between Marlinton and Richwood.
