Watoga State Park
At a Glance
Watoga State Park is West Virginia’s largest state park at over 10,000 acres, offering extensive hiking trails, lake paddling and fishing, and comfortable cabins and campgrounds for extended stays in Pocahontas County. More than 40 miles of trails wind through the park, which also features a swimming pool, interpretive programs, and a summer synchronous firefly show. Originally home to a historic African American separatist community, Watoga was developed by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, blending rich Appalachian history with diverse outdoor recreation near Marlinton.
