Gravel biking
in Seneca Rocks
From Seneca Rocks, riders can choose routes that range from scenic valley cruising to rugged mountain adventures. One loop climbs toward Smith Mountain Road via Triangle Rock, linking quiet gravel with sweeping views of the cliffs and the Allegheny ridges beyond.
More advanced riders can tackle the legendary North Fork Mountain Trail, combining technical ridgeline singletrack with a long forest-road climb and a return through the storied Smoke Hole Canyon along the South Branch Potomac River. The longest ride climbs south through farm valleys and along Gandy Creek to the summit of Spruce Knob, West Virginia’s highest point, before a dramatic descent into the limestone landscapes of Germany Valley.
